IN-HOUSE RESIDENCY
We know that education is a key factor in the ongoing success of all of our patient's lives and so our educational outreach efforts include ongoing communication with physicians, healthcare professionals, places of higher education and the general public. As a testament to our commitment to education, we created an in-house residency program in 2003. This program, housed at the Emory Orthopedics and Spine building has become the premier residency program in the Southeast United States and is a model for other organizations. The program is so successful that, despite a national average of less than 70%, our graduate residents have a 100 percent passing rate on their board exams!
Stephen Gaw, Board Eligible Certified Orthotist
Stephen joined our staff in May 2008 as an orthotic resident after earning his Masters degree in prosthetics and orthotics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to entering the O&P profession, Stephen had worked for various corporations in the field of logistics and supply chain management. His previous education includes a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech, and an M.S. in Business Administration from Penn State University
Josh McNeill
Josh joined our staff as an orthotic technician in August, 2005 with a BA in History from Coastal Carolina University in 2004. After working two years as an orthotic technician, he graduated from Northwestern University's program for prosthetics and will sit for his prosthetic board exam in Spring of 2010.
Chris Fink, Orthotic Resident
Chris joined our staff in June 2009 after obtaining his MS in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to entering the O&P field, he obtained a BS in Exercise Science and minor in Nutrition from Ithaca College.
