Louie Miller

Louie Jerome Miller was born May 2004, in Flint Michigan. He was born with a club foot. This birth defect would interfere with his ability to walk and his mom was faced with the decision to amputate the foot. She refused amputation.

Louie crawled at 6 months and learned to walk at 10 months. This amazed the doctors because they had said he would not walk with this foot. At age 2 a prosthetic leg was designed to fit over the club foot and existing leg. Louie wore this leg until age 3, but was able to do most things without the prosthetic leg.

At age 6 Louie began to have some difficulties walking without a prosthesis. The club foot was getting smaller and the limp would affect his hip as he walked. Atlanta Prosthetics & Orthotics was recommended and he came to see Will Holbrook.

The prosthetic leg that Will designed is perfect and Louie loves it. Louie picked out the design on the leg himself. He is adjusting to the new leg and is back to being a very active kid who enjoys school and playing with the kids in the neighborhood. Nothing stops Louie, and it never has, there are great things ahead for this young man.
