Tess was born without her left forearm, but that has not stopped her. As a child she participated in sports such as soccer, track, cross country and swimming. She is now a Junior at Auburn University studying for a degree in Rehabilitation and is thinking about entering a Physiatry Program when she completes her undergraduate degree

Joseph Boyd

Joseph is the son of Jimmy and Tammy Boyd. He was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and received his first AFO's when he was 1 years old. Now seven, Joseph is very athletic and enjoys playing baseball and PE at his school. He also is a big fan of gospel music and enjoys playing the guitar at his church. Although he is only seven years old, Joseph has many interests and is not letting his physical condition get in the way.

When she was just one day old, Lilah Cudamore was abandoned at an Orphanage in Nanchang, China. Then on October 12, 2009, things turned around when she was adopted by the Mills family in Atlanta Ga. Louie Miller

Louie Jerome Miller was born May 28, 2004 in Flint Michigan. He was born with a club foot. This birth defect would interfere with his ability to walk and his mom was faced with the decision to amputate the foot. She refused amputation.

Gene Bond

When I lost my leg I had no idea where to turn. I assumed the rest of my life would be spent in a wheelchair. After my surgery I found AP&O in the phone book and went to their Athens office and met Jim and Josh. What convinced me to work with them on getting my leg was the honesty in their communication. I lost my leg due to diabetes and had complications in healing such that it took me a year to get my prosthetic leg. Jim kept telling me it was going to be fine and to be patient. He and Josh helped me keep a positive attitude. After a year I finally received my leg and that was the day I knew I was going to be alright just like Jim said I would.

Kelly Luckett

Kelly Luckett, a Symes amputee since age two is the third female amputee to run the Boston Marathon in its' 109-year history. AP&O became Kelly's sponsor and provided her with a carbon-fiber prosthesis - the "cheetah foot." Since then, she's run nine marathons. Her advice to anyone who has physical limitations and wants to run is to talk to his/her prosthetist about the components available for running without pain and a smooth gait.
